The Future of dual UW (20 second aatxe)
This build requires guild wars:factions for 1 skill :
Spirit bond
For 8 seconds, whenever target ally takes more than 60 damage from a single attack or Spell, that ally is healed for 40...88 Health.
10e 1/4cast 1recharge
The way this build works is with 2 monks: a "dual SB" monk and a "divine smiter" monk
Dual SB
15 divine
16 prot
Spirit Bond
SpellBreaker
Life Attunement
Balthazars Spirit
Essence bond
Blessed aura
Blessed Signet
Open Slot
Rez (just in case)
Divine Smiter
16 smite
15 divine
8 heal
Holy wrath
Retribution
Aura of faith
Blessed Aura
Mending (to counter bleeding)
Blessed Signet
Open Slot
Rez (just in case)
The way it works:
The divine smiter monk slaps holy wrath, mending, retribution and Aura of faith on the dual sb and blessed aura on him/herself using blessed signt for energy
The dual SB casts Essence bond, balthazars spirit blessed aura and Life attunement oh himself using blessed aura for energy
The dual SB puts on the SBs and aggros, killing any nightmares that spawns, he may aggro as much as he likes with spirit bond on him because:
108x0.52=56+108=164x0.50+164=246
An aatxe strikes for about 284 againt normal armor (60) so judges armor or a shield or something may be nescesary.
Interrupts are no problem because spirit bond casts in 0.25 seconds
I believe this could really replace the usual 55 and SS/SV necro because of its speed:
an aatxe has 940 health (believe me) so:
940/70=13.4 -->14x1.33=18.62 seconds for one aatxe (w/o regen)
The dual SB would have to change armors according to the different types of monsters it will be facing:
ie. Judges for aatxe
LA for squids and smites
Finally this build could be greatly changed to suit different areas of the game but to do a smite run, this would be quick, too quick

seems a lot more complicated than 55/SS. I've sucessfully done dual monk UW before too. However, as it requires a faction skill, who knows when this will be able to come into play (skill might only be found late in factions). I'm pretty sure that Arena Net will come out with a "UW/FoW" type of thing for Factions.
Also (not to put this build down), Why would you want to farm in Prophecies when you can farm in Factions? Most likely ecto's won't be very useful in Factions but I guess you could go ahead a do it.

A) this is in no way more complicated than 55+SS/SV because in short this is how it works: cast enchants, dual sb keeps on spirit bond (the prot spirit of this build) then he can aggro as much as he likes
B) Ya, its a kick-arse skill so probably found late but oh well, i guess its a race
C) No, you would not want to farm UW when factions is out but there will be a factions uw/FoW that, hopefully can be done easily with this build.

Yup, 10 energy per hit. The only decent thing is it doesn't end if you have 0 (unless you can't pay the upkeep anyway). i don't have a clue what Spirit Bond is or how it works so...
What i think would be amusing is using Prot Bond along with the new Mantra of Flame and Great Conflagration for a very smooth 2energy a hit (on top of Balth/Essence). Of course that would technically be a 3man team but you can quite easily clear UW with a 55hp tank, SS/SV necro and an ele nuker.

Spirit bond gives somebody like 80 health (at high level) each time that ally takes more then 60 dmg.
But, the monk has life attunement and aura of faith on him so it may be possible (not tested yet, so i don't know for sure)

I was wondering if its also possible with Life Barrier that the Smit monk will cast on the dual SB monk so dmg is cut in half if u got enough prot
Just a guess becuz we dont need go sofar in PVE -Fire Island mission 2 cap Aura of Faith>?
The Smit monk has nothing 2 do unless keeping up those enchants, in fact hes doing totaly nothing wich is infact funny( becuz my twin brother let me do all the work as a Dual SB
So the smite monk does have permanent 0 energy and after fight he regens:P
The skill Spirit Bond is buyable in the start at Keineng Center, wich is the first city for those who come from Tyria

I'm the twin brother of Exile of Heaven and i was functioning as Divine Smiter monk, we did it just as it was explained in the guide but he seems to get to much damage that Spirit Bond couldn't heal. The reason why he got too much damage seems to come from his armor, so hes getting Censor's armor now.
The best option for the empty skill slot at my skillbar is a signet cuz u have no energy.
Also i can suggest a Cookie Shield from haloween cuz it give 10 unconditional armor, and u use a +5 enrgy weapon with a armor grip on it.
When u must fight the squids just drop of all ure armor expet ure pants and shoes so u will have 4 regen dut still take more then 60 damage each hit. and attack with the FFS so u get -10 armor, this is only a guess but if we make it to the squids ill post our results.
Against the smites i have no idea (maybe drop also a bit of ure armor so u would still get more the 60 damage)
The overall trick is that u must arrange ure armor so the u get more then 60 damage but not more then 220 so that SB can heal it.
I rlly hope this is going to work

In fact we had it working for a few secs, then i died
i looks like i still got 2 much dmg from attacks
Still trying out some other tricks and i love 2 see COOKIE SHIELD PWN Those Aaxtes:P

We did it yesterday, and we made it to the smites, there was only 1 problem we tryed to tank the coldfires but we did not do enough damage to kill them, the same is true for the dryder's.
It takes way to long to kill them all so we dont have a chance at Sno's UW challenge
At we my brother died once in this run but when het throwed on PS and Spirit Bond he would get less then 60 damage at the time but still get healed by Spirit Bond.
Conclusion: Build is very fast, less then 15 sec per aaxte, but has some major problem's with ranged attackers.

true, the dryders and coldfires are a big problem, we killed one dryeder in 5 mins O_o way 2 go :P but, we have an idea how we can handle it
Still , indeed we did a run together faster then ss with a 55 can do.
O_O imagine a ss comming along :P EVEN FASTER!

It's a regular heal, pretty much, even though it is conditional.
So... Why don't you just make the monk have 600+ life and then prot spirit + spirit bond? You really need a way to force the damage to be between the gap, and prot spirit is one of those spells that'll let you do it, but you need to figure out ways to give your monk lots of life.
Suggestions:
Vital Blessing
Symbiosis
Defy Pain? (Would work nice with balthazar's spirit I guess, should be able to keep it up constantly, especially with high lvl smiting. Problem is putting it up in the first place with 0 adrenaline)
Those are the obvious choices, there's probably more.

That's weird and sounds like a bug, really. Unless it's got something to do with which way around the enchants were put on (like if you SB before PS).
In any case, nice inventive build gogo factions!
*Edit: You'd have to take off armor against everything except the Attaxes though, as you'd have to make sure to reach the minimum damage...

Well, u dont need 2 bring symbiosis, becuz of the 8 enchants, wich give 2 much hp, Defy Pain gives armor, wich u DONT need, even now with 15 al armor i get under 60 from Squidies, so i replaced mending and switched a skill between the 2 of us, and FRENZY taken, O_o
